It’s no secret that we need to take a comprehensive, all-in approach to solving California’s housing affordability and homelessness crisis. From supporting efforts to preserve naturally occurring affordable housing to launching innovative programs that help simplify the process for building Accessory Dwelling Units, the public, private, and philanthropic sectors should work side-by-side with community-based organizations to implement innovative, equity-centered housing solutions. This session will explore the impact of cross-sector collaboration through the lens of two programs — the Local Rental Owners Collaborative and the Keys to Equity program — that seek to stabilize and provide pathways to wealth-building for communities disproportionately impacted by systemic racial and economic inequities. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the partnership behind these pilot programs, as well as strategies for exploring similar initiatives in their own communities.
