Remember to Vote by September 14!

In less than one week, California voters will make their voices heard in the 2021 CA Gubernatorial Recall Election.

The recall ballot will ask two questions: 1) Do you want to recall Governor Newsom? and 2) If the governor is recalled, who do you want to replace him?

• If 50% or more vote NO, the governor would remain in office.
• If more than 50% vote YES, the governor would be removed from office and the person with the most votes would replace him.

Voters can vote on either one or both parts of the recall ballot.

Return your vote-by-mail ballot by mail with prepaid postage as long as it's postmarked by September 14, 2021 or in-person to a secure ballot drop box, to a voting location or your county elections office by 8:00 p.m. on September 14, 2021.

In-person voting locations will offer voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, and language assistance to those who need it.

Two Affordable Homes Available

Two Mental Health Services units are available in the MidPen Housing development at 636 El Camino Real, South San Francisco. These are both 2 bedroom apartments and are suitable for families with 2 - 4 people. This could be a parent and adult child, or a couple. The individual requiring mental health support should have connections to FSP services.

On September 25th, renters from across the North Bay Region will gather to celebrate their wins, build power, and network with other organizers committed to advancing tenant protections.

Apply Today! Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute 

Urban Habitat’s Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute (BCLI) trains and supports leaders from low-income communities of color to influence housing, transportation, and land use policies as decision makers. The BCLI training helps participants understand complex and intersecting policy arenas, navigate the culture and language of commissions, and build effective relationships. In addition, we help BCLI fellows apply for and get selected to serve on public boards and commissions. Once on a commission, participants receive individualized support throughout their tenure.
