"When is enough, enough?"

Daly City needs more homes

Kalimah Salahuddin, Jefferson Union High School District Board Member

“Our students deserve the same level of support as any other student in San Mateo County... We have done the heavy lifting without any funding from Daly City, all we are asking is to let us help them build housing!” -Kalimah Salahuddin

Helping Housing: Volunteer Opportunities and Survey!

The San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA) conducts the bi-annual One Day Homeless Count and Survey to gather information to help the community understand homelessness in San Mateo County. This is one data set, among others, that provides information for effective planning of services to assist people experiencing homelessness and people at risk of homelessness.

The One Day Count will take place on January 27, 2022.

If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up using this form:

Take a Housing Survey!

San Mateo County is working on a study to determine which residents have the hardest time finding housing and what solutions would work best to address the county’s housing shortage. Please help them by taking a survey about your housing situation.

It will only take 10 minutes, be strictly confidential, and give you a chance to win a $100 gift card!

Sign a Petition for Safe & Healthy Housing

Over the past few months, Redwood City has been developing a set of policies designed to prevent displacement, which can help prevent homelessness. You can read the staff report and proposed policy changes here. While the proposed changes would be an improvement, the city could do more to protect current residents.

Please support our partner, Faith in Action, by signing their petition requesting  the Redwood City city council:

  • Restrict evictions due to renovations and give tenants a right to return.
  • Prevent harassment of tenants by landlords and act on cases of intimidation when reported.
  • Create a rental relations office for landlords and tenants to provide confidential information about their housing unit (rent increases, evictions, harassment, etc.), improve the process for monitoring building safety, process relocation assistance, and enforce landlord and tenant rights
