Eviction Moratorium Update

Governor Newsom Signs Executive Order extending authorization for local governments to halt evictions for renters impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, through September 30.

The Board of Supervisors have currently extended our Eviction Moratorium until July 28.

As we have done since the first eviction moratorium, HLC encourages the board to make full use of the emergency powers granted by the state of California and extend our moratorium to September 30, 2020. We acknowledge and appreciate the leadership that the Board of Supervisors has shown. And likewise, raise up the great work that county staff has shown from the County Manager and Public Health Officers, to the array of housing services as well.

HLC will continue to advocate for innovative ways that the county can help. If you would like to know more about our efforts please contact Stewart at shyland@hlcsmc.org.
