New report: CA Tops List of Hourly Wages Needed to Rent 2-bedroom Home

This week, the National Low Income Housing Coalition released its annual report, Out of Reach 2021: The High Cost of Housing, which concludes that millions of low-wage renters were struggling to afford their homes before the pandemic and will remain in an economically precarious position without significant congressional action. The report highlights the mismatch between the wages people earn and the price of decent rental housing in every state, metropolitan area, and county in the U.S.

We want to work together with you to make this event informative, accessible, and rewarding to all who attend. The planning committee meets monthly every 1st Tuesday at 1:00 PM.

New Program: Bright in Your own Backyard

Name:   Bright in Your Own Backyard – South San Francisco ADU Program 

What:    Participating homeowners receive up to 100 hours in FREE feasibility and project management services from nonprofit Hello Housing to help them build an ADU or JADU. 

When:   Application opens on July 1st, 2021 - August 13th, 2021

Where: Eligible homeowners must live in South San Francisco and own a single-family home.  We are also working with small “mom & pop” landlords who may want to add an ADU to their single-family rental property.
