TODAY! Send a written comment of support for 71 affordable homes!

Do you have 5 minutes to support 71 affordable homes? Well today is the LAST day to send a written letter of support for Cypress Point!

Midpen’s Cypress Point will be an affordable housing development in Moss Beach. It is critical to have more affordable homes in the region, especially on the coast where there are significant low paying jobs and inland communities (like San Mateo) are just as, if not more, expensive.

When and Where: It will be in front of the California Coastal Commission on March 12th at 9am. It will be item 14 under “Local Coastal Programs”. This is a critical step to moving these homes forward. Speakers must submit a “speaker card” by 8:30am the morning of the hearing.

How you can help and take action

  • Submit a written comment! If click on the Friday Agenda, scroll down to item 14 and click the blue “Submit Comment” you can submit a comment of support! What the Coastal Commission is actually approving is a little complex, but “supporting changes to the Local Coastal Program” is critical to unlocking potential affordable homes! Although we could really use some public speakers we understand not everyone is available to wait till the item comes up. Comments must be submitted before the end of TODAY, March 5th to be received by the Commission.
  • Forward this newsletter to a friend! You can also make a greater impact with less than a minute! If you could share this email with just 1 friend, asking them to take action, you will be doubling YOUR impact!

Connect with us! For any reason really. However, if you have any questions about the finer details, if you need help with what to write and if you let us know you sent a supportive email (very helpful to us), we’d love to know!

Will you help support the creation of these 71 affordable homes? There are currently no deed-restricted affordable homes in this area, but we know there is a great and urgent need for these homes. Your efforts can help address that need.
