Women's History Month

Women for Affordable Housing

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we want to acknowledge that women have been at the front of the Affordable Housing movement since the beginning. From Catherine Bauer, a longtime advocate for AH and author of Modern Housing, to all of the women leading affordable housing organizations today and shaping the AH landscape with political leadership, women have been making a difference at every level.

🏘 Affordable Housing Month 2022🏘

⋆ What is Affordable Housing Month? ⋆

Every year, the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County (HLC) and our partners dedicate the month of May to affordable housing. We engage hundreds of housing supporters around San Mateo County to collectively learn, mobilize, and understand the positive and extensive impact affordable housing brings. We do this by offering the opportunity of attending informative workshops, groundbreakings, housing policy panels, affordable housing tours, and more.

We also work with our regional partners: Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California, Silicon Valley at Home, East Bay Housing Organization, and Generation Housing to broaden our housing supporter base.

⋆ With your help, we can reach our goal!⋆

Join our efforts to move forward in San Mateo County and build road maps to affordable homes. Become a sponsor and celebrate the victories of our  affordable housing partners, learn about new challenges, and mobilize in response to our region's housing shortage.
